Mass Organization Asked to Participate Preserving Betawian Culture

The Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama does not mind mass organizations in the city to show up, as long as they could preserve Betawian culture.

"It's okay if mass organizations preserve Betawian culture," said Ahok in Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Building, Tuesday (8/18).

Eventhough the existence of mass organization is regulated on Bylaw of Betawi Cultural Preservation that just being validated, he does not prohibit it. But they are expected to participate in preserving the culture in the city.

Betawi Culture Preservation Bylaw Legitimated

As \k nown, the Legislative Council validate Bylaw of Local Culture Preservation today. The government also has conducted some regulations on the Bylaw, such inserting in school curriculum.

Besides that, it is also through souvenir sales and Betawian ornament use in hotel, restaurant, and other entertainment places.
